Yes, I had a great weekend! My new niece, Anna Charis, was born Saturday night at 9:37pm at 6lbs 9oz, 20 1/4" long. She is beautiful - just like the rest of her family! She and Mom both did a great job and had a relatively short labor and delivery time. They were to go home from the hospital sometime yesterday afternoon and Susannah's family is due in town tomorrow.
What a blessing that God and this family of friends has allowed me to really be a part of their family since mine is so far away and seen so infrequently. It is so thrilling to me to be able to be part of a family on a day-to-day basis as well as sharing in these special times. It makes the sometimes loneliness of being a single bother me a whole lot less often. I love to show up at their house and have the boys coming running hollering my name and giving me hugs! My God is awesome!
Praise Him for the miracle of life and family!

Home Again
Wow! What an exciting trip! We really had a great time and I will get some thoughts and pictures up as soon as I can. I returned Saturday late afternoon and spent that evening with my "local" family. Sunday was spent doing some things around the house and taking a nap, trying to get my body back on US time since I had to come back to work on Monday.
It's been a busy week at work and I was going to try to write some things down here on Wednesday night, but when I went to my computer room the Dell and I had a fight. And I lost. First thing yesterday morning I sent an email to my computer doc and he came by last night. It may be a bigger problem than he can fix. He's going to do some more checking today, but I may have to extend my warranty (yes, it ran out just a month ago) so I can send it in to Dell. But until further notice I'm out of a home computer. For those of you who are praying folk, please pray for this to be resolved quickly and smoothly and at the least expense possible. This is my main means of communication with my parents and pretty much means I don't talk to them again until it's fixed and I've not talked with them since we all got home from Australia. I know they made it home safely as we've traded emails we just haven't talked. It also has all my Quicken info, etc. Luckily, I have all the pictures that were on it backed up to CD, but I had not done so yet with the Quicken info that I have been faithful to keeping up-to-date since the beginning of the year. The only things not entered are from when I was on my trip and since (that was the other thing I was intending to do Wednesday night when the problem occured). So, I may not get the details up here in the near future, but I promise they will eventually get done.
In the meantime, I continue to amuse myself in the evenings. I've been reading and watching some TV. I'm working on an afghan that I'm really excited about. The pattern has you do the crocheting in a certain pattern, just like any afghan, and the stitch is done in such a way that it leaves holes in a regular pattern. Then when you finish you go back and weave through the holes of what's already done in such a way that when you completely finish it looks like plaid! I'm doing it in red, black and cream (the red and black both have a little cream running through them too, they aren't completely solid so they blend nicely with the cream). I've got 2 rows to go on the first part and I'm ready to start the weaving. I'm also a little antsy to work on some scrapbooking, so I may try to do some of that this weekend.
Well, I must get back to the pile sitting here on my desk. Hope you are all well, I'd love to hear from you so please send me a comment or an email when you get some time. God bless!
